Typical data warehousing and single database server methodologies raise the concern of how each customer's data can be kept separate from other customers' data, particularly from their competitors, in order to protect proprietary information.

CompeteNet’s ViewPoint technology was designed to specifically accommodate the security concerns of our customers. We do not use data warehousing or share common database servers. Data and functions for each of our customers are kept entirely separate from each and every other customer. We do this through a siloed data protection |
configuration where software and data are always on customer-specific machines. The configuration is scalable, which allows customers to be serviced in a manner that meets their data needs - whether through a single, committed server or a cluster of machines that comprise the customer stack.
We allocate each customer their own "stack" with its own IP address group. Each stack has its own security envelope configured to meet the security needs of that specific customer. Configured data enters the stack and can only be extracted by those with permission to do so. No two companies share the same IP/domain address. If one customer chooses to implement less rigorous security mechanisms, this has no bearing on another customer's stack, just as compromising one specific individual's personal e-mail account has no effect on other, more secure computer systems on the Internet. CompeteNet also uses a layered data distribution model, so that customer-specific data is created only within the specific customer stack. There is never any co-mingling of customer viewpoints.
