As we move to a world where the enemy is fast moving and adaptive, we need to provide better ways to dramatically improve the cognitive decision making capabilities of our soldiers and leaders. Our Armed Forces must be able to assess risk and make superior intuitive decisions outside of their comfort zone
and under conditions of uncertainty.

Government, particularly the Department
of Defense, has been at the forefront of
the adoption of simulation technology, pioneering applications like flight
simulation and pilot training. It’s been proven that realistic simulations provide credible and concrete experiences for trainees, enabling effective learning and behavior modification to take place.

When it comes to peak performance of an organization, team or individuals, the ability to observe, assess, make judgments, and take appropriate action is critical. Training and simulations must be inexpensive, effective, and highly scalable. They must be immersive and experiential, providing stressful and demanding scenarios that can be monitored and provide immediate feedback. Tactical decisions deployed today can have strategic consequences tomorrow. Armed Service personnel need to be prepared and ready for anything. Success depends on it.

The CompeteNet SimMastery System takes simulation to the next level by incorporating interpersonal-skills training with simulation technology. The key to the success of this methodology is the creation of realistic simulated scenarios, deployed over the Web or via CD, in which trainees learn from first-hand experience to master the critical skills they need. CompeteNet has been able to successfully change behavioral reaction in the areas of interpersonal skills development. Whether psychological, cultural, or situational, the SimMastery system ensures trainee's master skill sets, apply knowledge, and build confidence consistently and at the highest level of quality. With a choice of blended or distance learning options, it's ideal to meet the needs of large-scale, dispersed teams.

Simulation allows people on the front line to practice their communication, observation, and questioning skills, and then apply that knowledge in a realistic and safe environment, without negative consequences. Simulation gives the user the freedom to take risks, be challenged, and grow. It exposes weaknesses in crucial disciplines and provides immediate, valuable feedback, both to the individual and management.

Training is not complete without an assessment of results, comprehension, and behavior change, at both the team and trainee level. CompeteNet has developed techniques to collect and analyze data on trainees’ performance, both within events and through Web-based activities. CompeteNet works closely with clients to customize these techniques to meet the organization’s specific objectives, and to provide data that can be managed within the client’s own Learning Management System.
